Adia has long enjoyed coming to work with me. There's always lots of things for her to do; she knows many of my co-workers, can find her way around fine, and more often than not tries to set up shop and sell our customers things she finds or makes. I love that she is so interested in what I do. When I was a child, although I loved coming to the shop, it was less of a choice. As kids we actually had fold out bunk beds and "rec" room in which we could play in and stay out of trouble while my parents and grandparents worked. As we got older the "staying out of trouble" part got a little more difficult, but those are stories for another time.
One of my jobs, being that I have a license to drive semi trailers, is to haul scrap iron to a drop off point on the Snake River about 50 miles away. Adia had been learning about recycling at school and I couldn't pass up a chance for her to see it on a large scale. She had also never been in the truck with me. So I checked her out of school for an "appointment" just before noon and off we went. I gave her the shop camera to take some pictures while we were out, here's a couple of our trip.
